Here is an example of a 3-D mechanical model completed for a customer looking to go to market with a niche phone case. Without giving away any of the customer's IP, here is an image of model. One of the mechanical designers with a specialization in plastics chose a durable hard plastic for the body and a cushy rubber-like material for the over-mold around the case. We then delivered the design files to the customer along with a quote for the case prototype. This whole design was completed in under a week.
